IB Diploma Programme

SMA IT Al Irsyad Al Islamiyyah Purwokerto is proud to announce that our school is now a candidate school for the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme (DP). We are pursuing authorization as an IB World School, joining a global community of schools committed to high-quality, challenging, international education.

About the International Baccalaureate (IB)

The International Baccalaureate (IB) is a non-profit educational foundation that offers four programs of international education. IB World Schools share a common philosophy-a commitment to developing inquiring, knowledgeable, and caring young people who are prepared to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect.

The IB Learner Profile

About the Diploma Programme (DP)

The IB Diploma Programme is designed for students aged 16-19. It is recognized worldwide by leading universities and provides a rigorous, balanced education. The programme encourages students to think critically, conduct independent research, and become active, compassionate, lifelong learners.

The DP includes six subject groups as well as three core components:

• Theory of Knowledge (TOK): exploring the nature of knowledge across disciplines.
• Extended Essay (EE): an independent, self-directed research project.
• Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS): engaging in personal and community development beyond the classroom.

Planned Subject Offerings

As part of our candidacy process, SMA IT Al Irsyad Al Islamiyyah Purwokerto is preparing to offer subjects from across the six IB Diploma subject groups, including Languages, Sciences, Mathematics, and Individuals and Societies, in alignment with IB requirements. Final subject offerings will be confirmed once the school is authorized as an IB World School.
